Jacobs, as part of an Integrated Project Team, comprising Main Roads and Industry Partner Arup, recently engaged Major Oak Heritage Services to undertake a pedestrian transect survey and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) investigation of a potential Aboriginal Burial Mound at a construction site in Walebing. “I found Joshua to be proactive and professional in all our dealings and within a day of providing the brief we received a comprehensive proposal and detailed scope of works. Joshua was diligent in preparing the required safety management plans and  communicated appropriately with the site team and the Aboriginal monitors assigned to the project. The job proceeded without any issues and a final report was delivered within days of completing the survey.”

“I would not hesitate to engage the service of Major Oak Heritage Services in the future.”

David Pay, Senior Project Manager at Jacobs.

“Major Oak recently collaborated with us to undertake a Historical Heritage Assessment in Perth. Joshua's positive attitude and clear communication with the design team and client representatives demonstrate he is an efficient professional in his field. Joshua and his team have a high level of technical expertise in digital capture and historical archaeological investigations. I look forward to working with Major Oak in the future.”

Flavia Kiperman, Heritage Principal.

“Josh Davis instructed the University of Western Australia’s Archaeology Summer School students in drone flying and photogrammetry for the unit “Experimenting With Archaeology”. Josh designed these course components with UWA staff and undertook meticulous preparation to ensure the drone flights complied with aviation and safety laws and ethics requirements – vital for flying on the UWA campus, which was only possible thanks to his remote operator qualifications. He was able to demonstrate to the students how drone-based photography allows normally inaccessible objects and sites to be photographed, measured in detail and digitally reconstructed in 3D. Josh was thorough, helpful and knowledgeable. He was also quick to respond to all queries from university staff.  It was a pleasure working with him – I would recommend him for any future work of this nature.”

Dr Joe Dortch, Adjunct Research Fellow.

Josh has proven himself to be an enthusiastic, motivated and safe survey team leader. His positive rapport and communication with both the Traditional Owner survey team and the mining company representatives demonstrates he is an effective leader and communicator in the field"

Phillip Shiner, Heritage Advisor - West Pilbara (RTIO).
